SARRC's Grandparents Support Group
The Grandparents Support Group meetings are held monthly from October through May, with the goal of empowering, enriching and supporting all members. In addition to offering a network of support, grandparents attending the group’s monthly meetings participate in facilitated discussions, learn the latest information about autism from guest speakers, receive advice and training, and socialize with each other.
2020 meeting dates:
Time: 10:00-11:30 a.m.
Location: SARRC's Sybil B. Harrington Campus for Exceptional Children at 300 N 18th St, Phoenix, AZ 85006.
To attend an upcoming meeting, please contact Addie Mocca at 602.218.8203 or AMocca@autismcenter.org.
A special orientation of the Grandparents Group for new grandparents are held before each meeting from 9:00-10:00 a.m. The group will then join the regular meeting at 10:00 a.m. This orientation meeting will help answer questions about autism and share information about SARRC which also includes a tour of SARRC's Sybil B. Harrington Campus for Exceptional Children.
Grandparents have also become one of SARRC's most dependable group of volunteers and are able to support our team in a number of different ways including:
- Registering or meeting and greeting attendees at special events
- Providing daily clerical help with mailings and filing
- Preparing creative school projects at the Community School
- Assisting with entrepreneurial projects through SARRC's social enterprise programs
If you're interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Addie Mocca at 602.218.8203 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
